About Grammar Checker
There is no tone or strength picker. Paste a draft of up to 4,000 characters and get a proofread, not a rewrite. Errors are applied to the corrected text. Style suggestions are listed separately and stay off Copy corrected. Hide suggestions if you only want genuine mistakes.
Each finding shows a category (agreement, word choice, modifier, punctuation, mood/tense, or style), what changed, and a why line. Stats count errors, suggestions, and how many edits are currently shown.
The checker looks for subject-verb agreement, neither/nor with the nearer subject, collective nouns, dangling modifiers, fewer vs less, and common word mix-ups. Informal or long sentences that are still grammatical are left alone. US and UK spelling stay as you wrote them.
How to use Grammar Checker
- 1Paste the draft. Up to 4,000 characters. There is no tone control because this is a proofread.
- 2Click Check grammar. Wait for the corrected text and the change list.
- 3Separate errors from suggestions. Hide suggestions to see only applied fixes. Copy corrected still applies errors only.
- 4Read the why line. Use it to decide whether a style note belongs in your draft. Copy a suggestion by hand if you want it.
Limits and privacy
The draft is sent to OpenRouter for this check. Two checks per hour on this tool, ten across AI tools, keyed by IP. A private window does not reset the cap. If the request fails, that run does not count. No login.
FAQs
- What is the difference between an error and a suggestion?
- An error is treated as incorrect and is applied to the corrected text. A suggestion is a preference, such as an Oxford comma or who vs which, and is listed only.
- What does Copy corrected include?
- The draft with errors applied. Suggestions stay off that copy unless you edit them in yourself.
- Does it force US or UK English?
- No. It keeps the variety already in the draft, such as colour or color, programme or program, and toward or towards.
- What kinds of issues does it look for?
- Agreement, word choice, dangling or misplaced modifiers, punctuation, and mood or tense. Style notes are optional. It is not a tone rewriter.
- How do I hide style notes?
- Use Hide suggestions. The error count stays. Copy corrected still applies errors only.
