About Paraphrasing Tool
Paste up to 4,000 characters and pick one mode: standard, shorter, longer, simpler, or more formal. You get three numbered variations. Each card shows source words, output words, and similarity. Paragraph breaks in the paste are kept.
Standard aims to stay within about 20% of the source length. Shorter and longer push toward those ends without summarising. Simpler and more formal change register only. Qualifiers such as in principle or reportedly are meant to stay. Precise terms are meant to stay too: shortlisted should not become chosen.
A variation is flagged if similarity is 50% or higher, or if word count drifts more than 20% either way. Pick the card that keeps the facts and changes the wording enough. This tool does not reorder the whole article the way Heavy rewrite can.
How to use Paraphrasing Tool
- 1Paste the passage. Up to 4,000 characters. Blank lines between paragraphs are kept in each variation.
- 2Pick a mode. Standard is the default. Shorter, longer, simpler, and more formal change style, not the facts.
- 3Click Paraphrase. Three numbered cards appear below the box.
- 4Compare the cards. Use similarity and the 20% length warning to skip a variation that still copies long passages or pads the facts.
Limits and privacy
The paste is sent to OpenRouter for that request only. aiaq.io does not keep the paste. Two paraphrases per hour on this tool, ten shared across AI tools, by IP. Incognito does not add extra runs. You do not need an email.
FAQs
- What do the five modes change?
- Standard keeps a similar length. Shorter and longer compact or expand the wording. Simpler uses plainer words. More formal raises the register. None of them should drop facts or add new ones.
- What does the 20% length warning mean?
- That variation is much shorter or longer than the paste. On the short side, check that a qualifier was not dropped. On the long side, check that filler was not added.
- What does similarity mean on each card?
- Shared five-word passages against your paste, scored separately for that variation. Over 50% means that card still shares long runs with the source. It is not a web plagiarism check.
- Does Shorter mode summarise the passage?
- No. Shorter uses more compact wording toward the short end of plus or minus 20%. If a card is far shorter than that, the length warning appears so you can check.
- Are paragraph breaks kept?
- Yes. Blank lines in the source are kept in each variation, so a multi-paragraph paste does not come back as one block.
