About Direct Answer Optimizer

Direct Answer Optimizer counts the first paragraph under each question heading and scores it against a 40 to 60 word extractable band. Paste HTML, JSX, TSX, Markdown, or plain text, click Analyze, and each ## / ### or H2/H3 that ends with ? gets its own verdict.

The header reads like 1 of 3 answers in target, plus a filler count and combined lede words. Color follows the worst block: any Fail is red, Close with no Fail is amber, all Pass is green. Per-block verdicts stay on the blocks. Load sample fills the sourdough fixture. Tags and punctuation are not words.

Close and Fail blocks get Rewrite this answer. That trim uses only that section. A filler-only block is refused. Original and rewritten sit side by side with Copy. There is no URL fetch.

When to use it

Use it on a drafted article before you publish, and again after you merge two questions into one heading. Use it when a competitor is quoted in a short card and your ledes still run 90 words. Do not use it to invent an answer that is not on the page.

How to use Direct Answer Optimizer

  1. 1Paste the article. HTML, JSX, TSX, Markdown, or plain text. Optional: Load sample to try the fixture, then replace it with your copy.
  2. 2Click Analyze. Markup is turned into markdown headings when needed. Markdown and plain text stay as you pasted them.
  3. 3Read the summary, then each block. The header is the document. Each question has one verdict, a word gap, and filler chips when phrases matched.
  4. 4Rewrite a Close or Fail answer. Rewrite this answer trims that block only. Copy the rewritten paragraph, or copy the markdown report at the bottom.

How to read the results

Load sample produced three blocks: Pass at 51 words, Fail at 23 words with 10 filler hits (too short to answer), and Close at 75 words (trim to 60). The header read 1 of 3 answers in target · 10 fillers · 149 words, and the fluff warn fired because density sat over 2 percent. Rewrite on the Fail row returned This answer contains no information to work with. Rewrite on the Close row cut toward 40-60 and kept Leuconostoc.

Pass is 40-60. Close is 25-39 or 61-75. Fail is under 25 or over 75. Three or more distinct filler phrases drop the verdict one level. Fillers found chips sit on the block they came from. The ring is the share of Pass blocks after that rule. The thin bar tracks the heading under the cursor. Edits rescore live and clear an old rewrite.

Why this matters for AI search

Forty to sixty words is the band a model can lift as a complete reply without dragging the next heading with it. Shorter than 25 is a fragment. Longer than 75 is a section. The day-three surge block in the fixture was 23 words of filler and was refused a rewrite. The ready-test block was 75 words and could be trimmed to 46 without leaving the section. That is why the band exists: quote size, not style preference.

What this tool cannot do

It cannot fetch a URL, call a language model, or invent a missing answer. Paste never leaves the browser. No hourly cap. Closing the page clears the box. Do not paste secrets you are not allowed to process.

Common mistakes

Reading the header color as a page SEO grade. It is the worst block on this paste.

Clicking Rewrite this answer on a filler-only Fail and expecting new sentences. The refusal is the result.

Counting JSX or commas as words. They are stripped before the tally.

Pasting a URL. This page never fetches. Use Answer-First Rewriter if you need a fetch.

FAQs

Why use Direct Answer Optimizer?
It scores the first paragraph under each question heading against a 40 to 60 word extractable band, then trims Close and Fail blocks from that section only. Use it on a drafted article before you publish.
Does Analyze fetch my URL?
No. There is no Page URL field. Paste the article. If you only have a live address, copy the rendered source first. The paste never leaves the browser.
What do Pass, Close, and Fail mean?
Pass is 40-60 words. Close is 25-39 or 61-75. Fail is under 25 or over 75. Three or more filler phrases drop the verdict one level. The header colors by the worst block.
Why was Rewrite this answer refused?
That block was only filler, or had nothing left after filler was stripped. The message is This answer contains no information to work with. Write a real answer, then Analyze again.
Where do Fillers found chips appear?
On the block that contained the phrase. The header only shows the document count. Edits in the editor rescore live and clear an old rewrite.
Do HTML tags count toward 40-60?
No. HTML, JSX, and punctuation are stripped first. Only visible words in the first paragraph under that heading are counted.
What if I have several questions on one paste?
Each heading that ends with ? is its own row, with its own band, gap, chips, and rewrite. Click a heading to jump the editor to that block.
Can Rewrite this answer use another section?
No. It may only read that heading's lede and the rest of that section. It will not invent copy or pull sentences from a different question.
