About Answer-First Rewriter
Answer-First Rewriter reorders an article so a 40-60 word standalone answer sits first. Enter a Page URL or paste the copy, optionally fill Question this page answers, and click Rewrite answer-first. Empty question uses the H1 or title.
A finished run shows Question, then The direct answer, The restructured content (answer, then facts, then detail, then edge cases), and Extraction preview: first 60 words Original vs Rewritten. Copy sits on each block. Validation lists flags such as a short lede. Rewrite failed is a red list when the engine refuses the output.
This is not a summariser and not a language model. Sentences are rearranged. Numbers and names must already be in the input.
When to use it
Use it after the facts exist on the page and the opening still buries them. Use it when a competitor is quoted from a first paragraph and yours still starts with an anecdote. Do not use it to invent a missing answer.
How to use Answer-First Rewriter
- 1Choose Page URL or Paste code. Paste the article when the live page is a shell. URL fetch is HTML only.
- 2Fill Question this page answers. Optional. Empty uses the H1 or title from the fetch or paste.
- 3Click Rewrite answer-first. Wait for robots and page on a URL. Paste starts at Analyzing.
- 4Read Rewrite failed or the three blocks. Direct answer, restructured content, then the first-60-word preview. Copy what you will keep. Fix flags by editing the source and running again.
How to read the results
example.com stopped at the empty-page banner and set empty true. A sourdough paste produced a 24-word direct answer and then Rewrite failed: Output contains a run of words copied from the question. A shorter kitchen paste produced Rewrite failed: No direct answer could be built from the source, with the 0-word flag, even though the body was reordered.
If original and rewritten previews match, the UI says No change was made. Treat a red Rewrite failed box as the result, not as a silent success. A yellow Validation box can appear with a usable lede: Direct answer is 24 words (target 40-60) is a length flag, not a new fact.
Why this matters for AI search
Engines lift the first self-contained block they can quote, not the best block later in the essay. The anecdote Anyone who has kept a starter... was the original preview on the sourdough paste. The rewritten preview started on A sourdough starter is usually reliably active after 7 to 14 days. Same facts. Different first extract. That swap is the whole job.
What this tool cannot do
It cannot add facts, query ChatGPT, or guarantee a citation. A URL fetch does not run JavaScript. Five runs per hour. Localhost is blocked. Paste is scored on the server for that run and not stored. A failed rewrite is still a completed run.
Common mistakes
Pasting a question that already appears as a sentence in the lede, then wondering why Rewrite failed cites a copied run of words.
Treating a failed rewrite as a scored audit. There is no 0-100 ring here.
Expecting new examples. If the source never named a temperature, the output will not either.
Leaving Question blank on a page whose title is a brand name. The H1 becomes the question, and the lede may not answer it.
FAQs
- Why use Answer-First Rewriter?
- Engines lift the first self-contained block, not the best paragraph later on the page. This tool reorders copy you already wrote so a 40-60 word answer sits first. It does not invent facts.
- Is this a summariser?
- No. It reorders sentences that are already in the paste or fetch. If a claim was never written, it will not appear in The direct answer or The restructured content.
- Why did Rewrite failed mention words copied from the question?
- The validator rejected a lede that repeated a run of words from Question this page answers. Change the question wording, or write the lede so it does not echo the prompt.
- Why was the direct answer 0 words?
- No sentence pack fit the 40-60 target without adding claims. Write a fuller answer in the source and run again. The tool will not pad with invented detail.
- Does Rewrite answer-first call a language model?
- No. Reordering is deterministic. There is no ChatGPT call and no new example. A private window does not change the algorithm, only the five-run hourly cap.
- What do the first 60 words compare?
- Extraction preview is the opening most likely to be lifted. Original is the source order. Rewritten is after the pass. If those strings match, the UI reports a failed rewrite.
- Can I fetch a URL instead of pasting?
- Yes. Page URL downloads the first HTML response. Paste the rendered article when the live view is a JavaScript shell. An empty fetch shows the empty-page banner.
- What happens if I leave the question blank?
- The tool uses the H1 or title. A brand-only title often yields a weak or failed lede because nothing in the copy answers that string.
